Two Strategies To Remain Motivated Against A Mountain of Work

Teenager Entrepreneur

Almost everyone is busy. That is a common excuse explaining why people are not productive. Interestingly, people are too busy to be productive. They face a mountain of checklists and to-do items. Overwhelmed, they do not break down the situation and figure it out. The lines of priorities are blurred by mundane tasks. The potency of completion for certain objectives dulls, as the canvas of a person’s life becomes simply squares and checkmarks. However, there is a way to deal with a large amount of tasks to complete.

First, approach the situation with gratitude. I have many responsibilities as the co-founder of Business Whiz Kids, and at times, my schedule is tightly packed. However, all I have to do is remember how blessed I am to recenter myself. I say this humbly because everyone can find some reason to be happy. We all have items, access and influence that others do not possess; we are a rare commodity. If we can remember to think and act gratefully, we can lead fulfilled, happy lives.

Two strategies to remain motivated against a mountain of work are:

1. Use incentive linkage. There are tasks that you do not like to complete, and others you enjoy. Complete one activity that you do not enjoy, then complete one you do like, and repeat. This sandwiching practice of incentive linking moves you through your checklist.

2. Celebrate when you succeed. For all this work, you deserve to bask in the glow of your greatness. For example, after you complete a workout, jump up with your hands in the air a few times. Say, “yes” emphatically many times.

It is my hope that these strategies elevate your life. Please comment below describing how you are going to successfully tackle your mountain of work, and to join our community of conscious motivators and entrepreneurial achievers.
